Note: If you are a citizen seeking your Student UID from North Carolina Public Schools, please contact the public school you most recently attended. If you did not attend a North Carolina Public School, you do not need to provide a UID to apply to an institution of higher education or to utilize CFNC.
About the UID Systems
The North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI) uses a statewide Unique Identifier (UID) System that enables public school units (PSUs) to assign a UID for every student and staff member who participates in the NC education system at any point in time. The UID System enables reliable matching of records over time and across NCDPI applications, and UIDs remain valid even if students and staff members move to a different North Carolina public school. The UID System is built on the eScholar Uniq-ID® product.
